It may, but slowly!: It may, but very slowly. More significant is why do you have dried blood in your ear canal. Do you have a history of eardrum perforation, chronic ear infection, eardrum or ear canal trauma, etc. Recommend ear exam by ENT/ ear MD, to determine why you have blood, which is indication of possible ear pathology, and if you need treatment!

Get checked: See your doctor to look for an ear infection or at least look inside your ear canal.

GO TO DOCTOR NOW: Poking a cotton swab in the ear can cause injury to the ear canal and can puncture the eardrum if pushed in far enough. Clearly your child has sustained a  significant and serious injury to his ear. You must get medical care for your child immediately.  Take your child to his/her doctor or to an emergency room NOW!

Postpartum: I doubt that this is related.  I would have expected the nose and ear proble to have occured at the time of delivery or shortly there after, but not 6 months after. I would suggest you see an ENT specialist to resolve your nose and ear problem.

How , Qtips?: The questions are you seeing the blood?  Are you placing a foreign body such as a Qtip which can cause damage?   The blood you are getting may be from damage from the Qtip.  If your ear is draining blood you should go and see a physician.  Otherwise do not place anything in your ears.

i find dried blood in both my ears while cleaning them only after a severe migraine about 3x/month. i never dig deep/harshly in my ears. any causes?

Blood in ears: A very interesting symptom after a migraine. I have not seen this in 22 years of practice. I would get my ears checked it likely is not related but lets make sure.

Barotrauma: Please see a physician ASAP for possible ear drum rupture or infection- possible from altitude changes or actual bacterial infection.

Dried blood: Ideally this should be flushed out. Do not put anything in the ear to try and get it out.

Carefully: You can carefully dip a q-tip in olive oil and gently wipe your outer ear canal with it to keep it clean.  Do not push it in further that the white tip.
