Prostate: If you are an older male, this is a common complication of prostate enlargement.  If female can be overactive bladder.  This also can come about from urinary tract irritation.  Check with your urologist if this is persistent.

Possible BPH: These symptoms can be a sign of BPH (benign prostatic hypertrophy) and you should see your doctor to have the prostate checked. The best doctor for this is a urologist. They can check the prostate size and function using several tests, including psa blood test, dre (digital rectal exam of the prostate), pvr (post void residual), prostate ultrasound and possibly others. There are meds that can help.

Urethral stricture?: This sounds like you may have partial blockage to urine flow, such as urethral stricture (narrowing of the urine passage). This needs prompt medical attention:  keep working with the doctor who evaluated your prostate; or ask for referral to a urologist. Good luck.

Other causes include incomplete bladder emptying , overactive spastic bladder, or a urethral diverticulum . A urology evaluation may be needed. Yes anxiety is one cause of urinary frequency
