Dehydration : Dehydration can occur easily when a patient has an infection.  An infection can cause a fever, even when the patient isn't always aware, and the skin flushes, with more fluid evaporating.  In addition, if a patient isn't feeling well, they often don't drink or eat as much as they typically do.  Patient's who are on other medications, including cardiovascular medications, can be more sensitive to the effects of dehydration.  Signs of allergic reaction  to a medication usually includes rash that is usually hives, swelling, itching, or shortness of breath.

Side effects: Allergy testing by specialist is safest, otherwise, you have to experience rash or anaphylaxis or side effects after taking such a med or it's components.  Best to avoid if not sure.  You must always weigh risks vs benefits.

Check the labels: Also only use high quality pharmaceutical grade supplements and neutraceuticals, as the cheap stuff is from asian countries that don't have FDA oversight.  Also, note that celebrex (celecoxib) has a sulfa molecule component and there is cross allergenicity between it and all other sulfa agents that produce allergic reactions.

Triple trouble: I don't know of any cross-reactivity between sulfa and triple antibiotic ointments (combo of neomycin, polymyxin and bacitracin) however it is important to know that contact allergy to these antibiotics particularly neomycin is very common.

: I heavily rely on a first line of ACE inhibitors or ARB with associated mild dose of a long acting diuretic such as HCTZ(sulfa allergy no concern) I then add, if necessary, a CCB , but if the patient tends to have a resting heart rate over 80, a BB is helpful. If a goal of 130/80 is not achieved, I add an alpha blocker such as cardura  or a beta dilator such as labetolol in varying doses. Success
