Yes: When it presents sometimes you can weight loss called cachexia due to the systemic inflammation that it has.  This can resolve once one goes on therapy.

RA and DDD different: Ddd is treated symptomatically with exercise, core muscle strengthening and weight control. Rarely are injections or surgery warranted. Ra is treated with various med including anti-inflammatories, steroid and immune system modulating drugs. This all depends of the severity of your particular case. Speak to your rheumatologist for complete discussion of how to treat RA in your particular situation.

Yes: The  average life expectancy is a little shorter for people with rheumatoid arthritis. This does not mean that all patients with rheumatoid arthritis will have a shortened lifespan. Rheumatoid arthritis is not fatal. It can be associated with complications and treatment related side effects which can contribute to a shorten lifespan.

Depends: Jra could affect few or several joints. Can affect eyes or could occur with fever and rash. Ra typically after age 16, bilateral symmetrical joint swelling with some lab abnormalities.
