RA and DDD different: Ddd is treated symptomatically with exercise, core muscle strengthening and weight control. Rarely are injections or surgery warranted. Ra is treated with various med including anti-inflammatories, steroid and immune system modulating drugs. This all depends of the severity of your particular case. 2 different ways: Ra can be devastating if not properly treated. You should seek treatment from your physician or, ideally, from a rheumatologist. Ddd is a different story all together but weight control, not smoking & regular exercise will help both ddd & ra. For most, ddd is just age changes not leading to any significant symptoms. Ra can be halted with treatment. Otc medication can help with symptoms
