my rib(s) cracks on my right side every time i take a deep breathe. ive been vaping for almost 3 years now and i believe that could be the issue but my chest only hurts rarely. should i let up on vaping and smoking until my lungs heal? how to quit?

Pulmonary function : I would suggest a pulmonary evaluation including a pulmonary function test. Have a screening chest image and please consult with your local lung association for instructions on quitting both.
If the symptom is related to chest wall strain, apply local heat and take Motrin.

Bad: Same as smoking. It is bad for you.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Why ask?: Are you afraid that someone will see your organs? Surely sucking any kind of smoke into your body must be harmful.

Vape pen: Contain heated propylene glycol or vegetable glycerin but no Tar.

Most people: Do not feel good when they stop smoking.  You will get better eventually.  E cigarrettes are safer.

Vaping: Vaping will not lead to healthier lungs. There were a number of deaths associated with vaping before COVID 19. Both vaping and smoking poses dangers.  It is best not to put any pollutants into your lungs.

YES: The most likely answer truly is yes as anything that is inhaled will be an irritant to the lungs.  With vaping it is unclear as to what the chemicals are in the vaping materiel.  Do your lungs a favor and give them a break and do not vape or smoke.

Addiction: Use of tobacco in any form can start the process for many diseases, including cancer, heart and lung disorders, though it may occur years later. You may get addicted to tobacco and may not be able to quit it when you realize that it is bad for your health.

E Cigarettes: Although billed as a "safer" alternative to tobacco, are far from safe. They are still filled with chemical components, and in one chemical analysis were found to carry ten times the number of cancer causing chemicals in cigarettes. You may want to consider avoiding them altogether. Hope this helps!
