i don't have heart problems i took too much thc and heart rate went too 200bpm in the ambulance they used a defibrillator on me. i am so scared this hurt my heart. it didn't even help the heart rate when they shocked me only valium helped?

: You need to ask what they saw or thought was going on when the shocked you. You told them you thought you good too much "stuff".   Did not hurt heart but you may have some aches and pains in muscles and joints and chest wall for a few days. I would discuss with the shockers. How much did they shock you with?

: No. But THC will damage your health.

can't use epinephrine i get rapid heart rate, endodontist wants to give me 20 mg valium crushed 1/2 hour before root canal.  is this ok?

Should be fine: Actually the Epinephrine in dental work is injected with the novocaine to keep the pain killer in place rather than it leaking out into the circulation. Very little of the eli leaks into the circulation either, and hardly anyone has problems due to it. Check w/your dentist.

started prozac (fluoxetine) back up at 20mg a day, along with my 15mg valium a day. just read prozac (fluoxetine) can increase valium levels. am i in danger?

Shouldn't be: You're taking a fairly low dose of both Prozac and Valium ... But, yes, because of the way Prozac is metabolized, it will effect the concentration of Valium.  That said, if you're having acute anxiety and depression - perhaps have a discussion with your doctor about another medication which might be more appropriate for you (such as Cymbalta (duloxetine) or Pristiq). Yes: You should be able to ask your psychiatrist any questions. Most likely the response will be why do you want to raise your dosage of Valium? This should lead to an appropriate discussion of the problems you are having. The final answer about your dosage will depend on the reason that you  are receiving it in the first place, dosage, other medications you are on and how your treatment  is evolving

Not much in common: Topamax (topiramate) is a weak carbonic anhydrase inhibitor Valium is not. There is much in terms of side effects, indications and risks of use  that bring the two agents into contrast .

Work w/your doctor: You really need to work with your doctor on any medication changes, rather than asking online physicians who don't know you.  Effexor (venlafaxine) can be very helpful in anxiety.

have been tapering down from 1.5mg of xanax (alprazolam) down to approx. .20mg experiencing insomnia and increase anxiety should i switch to 5mg of valium or continue my taper w xanax (alprazolam). because vali is long lasting?

Detoxing: Your brain is addicted. This brain will do everything it can to interfere with your plan to get healthy.  It is not healthy to switch mid-stream to another addictive medication.  That is not good medicine and will prolong your recovery from this addiction.  Perhaps you should add some fellowship program with other addicts who have gotten off of their prescription medications and are healthy.

Valium &amp; prednisone?: Most importantly, be certain that every doc knows ur full med list. there's no formal interaction between these2 meds. Prednisone can have psychiatric side effects, which you should be monitored for. Valium should not be stopped without a docs instruction. Best to check with ur doc to find out what's right for you.
