i have been taking tetralysal for a month now for acne on my shoulders and chest, but it does not seem to help. how effective is this medicine?

8 week trial: For the treatment of acne Tetralysal may take at least 8 weeks to begin to show an effect. So unless you have any side effects you can continue to use this drug as prescribed even though there may not be an immediate effect. If after 8 weeks there are no effects or if you have any side effects from this drug please consult with the prescribing physician.

can i just use tetralysal for my big acnes although my dermatologist told me to buy cream,soap cleanser etc. is it still safe&effective w/o the rest?

Acne care: Acne care involves an entire regimen, not just one prescription.If your dermatologist told you to do a variety of things, then your optimal results will be if you do everything they instructed you to do. Using these medications often have side effects or only work if done together with other treatments. While the med alone may help,it will not be the optimal care for your acne unless you do it all

how long do you need to stay out of the sun after you stop taking lymecycline?

Several days: Lymecycline is a tetracycline antibiotic that can have photosensitivity. The half-life of the medicine is 10 hours, so after several days, it should be completely out of one's system. Fortunately it's no longer summer in the Western hemisphere, so this by itself reduces the risk of photosensitivity.

i am 18 days into taking both lymecycline and differin (adapalene) for my acne. is it still effective to use differin (adapalene) every 2nd night to reduce my facial redness?

Red faced: Absolutely and you may want to use a skin moisturizer.

i was on lymecycline and differin (adapalene) only for a week as had to stop due to a rash. doctor suggested a different birth control to help acne? will it go?

Yes: You can combine any OC with antibiotic.The concern is that the OC is not one that is more likely to add to acne potential.

can tetralysal and zineryt be taken together?

Accepted Answer

Other people do it: If a person can take Tetralysal (or another member of the tetracycline family of antibiotics) without problems, and if she can use Zineryt (or another type of erythromycin) without problems, then she should be able to use them together without additional worries. They are both antibiotics and so can lead to stomach upset or diarrhea, but otherwise should not cause problems together.

i'm taking the antibiotic  tetralysal 150mg  is it ok if i take my vitamins too?

Medication Q's: Some Multivitamins can reduce the serum concentration (effectiveness) of the antibiotic  if taken together so I would recommend taking them several hours apart to reduce the chances of this happening.

i have been on tetralysal 300 for the past 5 weeks and recently ive been suffering from nausea. can i take nausea meds to help ease the discomfort?

Over the: counter anti-nausea medication is fine...but before you take anything try taking your medication after eating!!!
BTW AVOID DAIRY (may interfere with the absorption of your medication)

Maybe: The antibiotic could effect ovulation, so you might have irregular periods.

Accepted Answer

First report: A delayed menstrual period while taking tetralysal is  not a reported side effect of this medication - this would be the first reported incident.
