sleepiness: Excessive sleepiness may be a symptom that can be very dangerous symptom due to the risk of accidents at work or driving etc. You can see how sleepy your are by googling ess and completing the scale. You may just need to be more active. If you need  treatment start by seeing your primary care to clarify the cause.  Causes might include shift work, sleep apnea, insomnia, medications, or narcolepsy.

Dumping syndrome?: It is possible that your body is emptying the food out of the stomach too quickly after meal and causes a large amount of carbohydrates/sugars to be absorbed too quickly...
Try smaller meals, and walk around after eating rather than sitting in place...
If not better, check with your doc..

Normal: Try to take pain medicine and relax,take a nap,maybe your brain needs some relaxation,your brain uses alot of your body's energy.

But consistent am drowsiness and difficulty awakening and functioning when you seemingly had sufficient time asleep suggests possible sleep apnea or nocturnal myoclonus.  An overnight sleep study should clarify issues.

Drowsy: Probably not. It is why many people have troubles with muscle relaxers. They do work centrally and that is why they cause sleepiness.

See PCP: First check medications or substances thaty decreases sleep as caffeine, chocolate &amp; derivatives alsom OTC &amp; certain natural meds&gt;?
Good sleeping habits are important. Avoid late super, late strenuous exercises
Then try melatonin 1 hr before sleep 3 to 6 mg if it does not works see PCP or sleep specialist

my four month seems to get sleepier during the day. he is showing signs of teething. is sleepiness related to teething?

Eating well?: As long as he is eating well enough, i wouldn't worry too much about it. Teething can certainly make a baby out of sorts for a perod of time. A topical numbing gel can help.
