In fact, tobacco use is the number one preventable medical problem in the U.S. The number of medical conditions that are the result of smoking is very large. Common is heart and lung disease, but also infertility and erectile problems!

Only in peoples mind: There is no safe level of tobacco. Smoking is linked to such a long list of medical problems - the space here is too short. However, it has a powerful effect on how people think, because that cigarette wants you to keep smoking. People will feel more calm, more awake, less anxious, less sad. Mostly because if you don't smoke, you will feel worse. So the benefits are only perceived, not real.

Mood changes: Nicotine has both stimulating and relaxing effects, and with cigarettes persons addicted are very good a titrating the amount of nicotine for desired effect.  , however once addicted the main effect the nicotine gives a smoker is to relieve the craving and mild withdrawal state that happens in between cigarettes. The withdrawal state could include irratibilty, poor concentration,  anxiety.

Speak with your cardiologist about what medication they want to give you to prevent this again but anything that stresses your heart, can lead to problems.  Smoking decreases oxygenation, caffeine causes too much stimulation so have a better lifestyle will be key.

Yup & yes both bad: Both cause nicotine addiction.  Both cause cancer. Both are yukky. Smoking is worse for the lungs, dipping is worse for the gums, teeth, and breath.  Spitting brown soupy saliva tinged with tobacco is socially disgusting.

Neither are "safe": As of 11 SEP 2019 The  Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported 6 deaths &amp; &gt; 450 possible cases of severe lung injury in 33 states &amp; 1 jurisdiction related to vaping. The mechanism of injury is poorly understood at this time. Don't recommend vaping. However, in general, smoking cigarettes tends to present with a higher frequency of side effects.

Yes and no: Both do harm to the body in different ways, nicotine is implicated with cancer , weed also has implicated with cancer in a recent study an increased incidence of testicular cancer was found . 
In regards to addiction they both cause increase of Dopamine which happens to be the chief chemical associated with pleasure, reward and re-inforcement of a behavior. I would suggest both not be used.

Smoking &amp; Pain: There was a study that demonstrated increased low back pain with smokers. It only stands to reason that if it can cause low back pain, it may also increase incidence of other aches and pains.
