No: Skin cancer risk is increased by both intensity (burns) and cumulative exposure.  Protect yourself not just by not burning, but by minimizing your sun exposure, particularly between 10 and 2. Avoid tanning beds and use sunblock that protects against both uv a and uv b.

Sunburn and skin ca: We know that people who have had blistering sunburns as kids or young adults have a greater risk of developing skin cancer as adults.The damage caused by sunburn sets you up for skin cancers in the future...Which can be a few years to a few decades.Patients on immune suppressants for transplanted organs also have an increase in skin cancer.  Skin ca ranges from squamous, basal, to serious melanoma.

: Exposure to prolonged heat can cause reticulated, erythematous or hyper pigmented dermatosis called erythema ab igne. Chronic and low level of infrared radiation causes it, later on squamous cells and Merckle cell  carcinoma can develop. Low. Level light therapy LLLT or PBM helps in rapid healing of wounds and for intrainflammatory purposes. In short, if changes of erythema ab igne, avoid heat.

Doesn't : Doesn't matter if you burn or not.  The tanning response requires genetic damage to the dna in your skin cells in order for tanning to happen.  Even tanning 10 times a year raises the risk of melanoma by 34%.  Tanning also dramatically accelerates the aging process in your skin by completely shutting down collagen production temporarily.

Unlikely: Unlikely cancer. But any neck lump/bump should be checked. See an ENT doc for exam/recommendations.

Met: Sunburn can increase the risk for skin cancer in some children. I would recommend that you see your PCP for an evaluation. Signs to watch for include bleeding, irregular borders and an increase in size of the lesion.

Not really: There is a linkage to repeated sun damage, particularly prior to puberty.One episode is not going to do it but will hopefully remind you that sunblock/headware is a a simple and inexpensive way to help avoid it.

No: Exposure to sunlight does not cause transformation  of fibrous scar tissue to malignancy.  If pre existing nevi or evidence of a small ulcerating skin lesion appears, these are potential sites of further transformation with overexposure to sunlight

Possible: Prolonged exposure to heat will damage the skin and increase the risk of skin cancer.
