Knee&amp;related pain: You MAY have a torn meniscus or other knee issue.  Please see your doctor so you do no further damage.  He/she may refer you for physical therapy or surgery.  Peace and good health.

See ortho: Can be cartilage problem. Can be tendinitis. Needs to be thoroughly evaluated before you play anymore.

i take voltaren 3% for my knee pain. i am reading that it can cause heart and kidney failure that scares me.. rubbing it on your knee once or twice a day can cause this?

: Most or all nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) -- ibuprofen, naproxen and others, including diclofenac [Voltaren] increase heart attack risk; and slight kidney risk. Actual risk is very low, one event per thousands of people taking NSAIDs. Voltaren probably is lower risk, because it doesn't result in high blood levels of drug. Probable risk to you is too small to measure or worry about.

have had severe right knee pain with fluid for about a month.  the pain is worse in the morning. nothing seems to ease the pain.  i have no insurance.?

Bite the bullet!: You need to have it looked at, and the fluid needs to be drained and evaluated. You may be able to negotiate a cash payment at a walk in clinic for less than you think, especially one staffed by pas or nps. Do not put this off-it could be serious. Please.

Try an OTC support: Most drug stores now carry elastic braces for all joints and the back even. You can try wearing one awhile and perhaps the support  will allow enough rest to heal whatever is strained.  A GP visit if you feel well understood might lead to good ideas and you might find some help in acupuncture  or therapeutic massage or physical Tx to rebuild support muscles.

Possibly: It could be an inflammatory or a mechanical process. Have the knee examined and you will know for sure.

12 years old: Make sure has good arch supports in sneakers, shoes for starters. As far as diet: here is an interesting read. It would be interesting to know the effect of some of the more benign diet suggestions by someone who has knee pain.
