my son has a few very light petechiae spots on his legs that he noticed a few days ago. he said he was itching the area. had a full blood work up 2 months ago that was normal. should i be concerned?

: Nothing to alarm yet especially the lesions are itching and they have been there for a couple days. You just keep an eye on his well- being and observe the rashes. If there is any other evidence of spontaneous bleeding such as nose bleed, joint effusion, etc. he needs to be seen by then. Often, petechiae are nothing to worry about.

i get petechiae when i have a strong itching sensation.i usually get it on my inner arms and thighs,but it's currently on my  breast and stomach.my blood work came back normal.this has been happening for years and i'm frustrated.any diagnoses?

Skin irritation: The itching may be due to sensitivity to a chemical, such as detergent.  Try giving an extra rinse to your clothes to remove detergent residue  In addition you may try an emollient to soothe your skin. if this does not help, it would be prudent to see a dermatologist.

Possible Vasculitis: This needs to be seen and perhaps a skin biopsy needs to be done.  You could have a condition that is causing inflammation of your blood vessels.

Rash: 39 year old lady with concern about a rash. Please see your physician to take a look at your rash. Petechiae need to be differentiated from macules, papules, urticaria, and folliculitis,  and are best for the trained eye to examine.

Anal Itching?: I am assuming your anus itches.  Several causes.  Partial rectal prolapse can cause this.  Mucous glands on the outside and wet and not meant to be there.  Causes poor hygiene.  Pin worms can cause this.  Hemorrhoids can cause this.  Yeast and other fungan and bacterial infecitons can cause this.  Use baby wipes, balneol or other rectal cleanser.  Check for pin worms.  Get anoscopic exam by md.
