Not diagnostic: Monocyte count may increase with many conditions (yours is minimal)  but often from a viral infection which is a potential cause for your current symptoms. However if the problem persists, you will have to check with your doctor again.

No: The absolute monocyte count seldom tells us much in isolation. If by "low iron" you mean a low serum iron, you need it interpreted; if by "low iron" you mean a low hemoglobin / hematocrit, you are anemic and this is serious. High liver enzymes require a workup for alcohol and drug toxicity, hepatitis, hemochromatosis, wilson's & others. Never focus just on labs.

Clinic visit needed: There are many causes of abdominal pain, some of which can be simply annoying, like constipation, others can be deadly. The best way to make sure it's nothing dangerous is to be examined by a health care provider. Most of the time the cause can be determined with a physical exam and a few simple tests. Less often, an imaging study or looking inside the gut with a scope (endoscopy) is needed.

: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, your results could be due to a viral infection. Do not take alcohol or Tylenol. Talk to your doctor about repeating these in 3-6 months.    Wish you good health!

Your question?: I appreciate your sharing this, but no one here will be able to make the call. Unless your HCG is extremely high, it means nothing. The other labs are not helpful. Your periampullary lesion has hopefully been biopsied, as will your liver lesions if the radiologist cannot certify them as benign. Hoping celiac sprue has been ruled in or out, along with whipple's and common lactose intolerance.

Having said that, it would help to have the actual values of the results. The one item of interest is high ALT. If you drink alcohol, stop entirely for three months and redo the test. Other results are okay.

Not worrisome: It's not worrisome for the monocytes to be slightly out of normal range, as long as the other components (wbc, hgb, platelets) are normal.

Often a bit high: It's a monocyte-crazy disorder and like TB i've noticed over the years that monocytes often run a bit high, maybe 800 or 1000.  This is notoriously unreliable but a tipoff; nobody's going to base a decision on it but it's fun to see.

hi! my monocytes (absolute) is 1.0 ,12% relative. this test came after i was diagnosed with gout,   with puric acid 6.1. is that significant?

Gout: The uric acid of 6.1 is significant but not very elevated. Monocyte count is not relevant to gout, unless gout is secondary to another disease, like neoplasm or infection.
