Not enough info: It is difficult to say without a more thorough history and exam and ability to review the mri. Speak to your own rheumatologist.

Probably not: As lupus affects mostly certain compartments while in flare, like joints, skin, brain, lung, kidneys. Stretching and therapy may help. If pain persist, have imaging studies. Good luck.

i am 87 and have continuous muscle spasm which starts in my left hand and spread all over my body. they have done blood tests for lupus and fibro malgia which are clear. please advise possible other causes.

Muscle spasms: Frequent diffuse muscle spasms can be caused by deficiencies of calcium, magnesium, potassium or sodium. If you haven't been tested for these,I suggest you discuss these possibilities with your physician. You could try taking  some magnesium in the meantime as a trial. Another suggestion would be to consult a neurologist for evaluation.

See below: Because your muscles are being affected by the lupus disease process which is causing inflammation, your muscle are spasming due to the inflammation affecting them.  See you rheumatologist for aid with this.

back and shoulders are knotted up from muscle spasms. i have ms. why would the area feel hot to touch, but no where else? i'm currently relapsing.

Hot: Localized increase in temperature may represent localized infection called cellulitis. Seek medical attention

im scared i have ms or parkinsons. im coming off the med geodon and i am having muscle spasms, twitching and tingling. i cant see the neurologist until nov. does this sound like either disease? or withdrawal? both have same sx?

: If you were on high dose of Geodon, those symptoms could be withdrawal symptoms, do not imagine such worst conditions.

SOME THOTS: Pain is very common in ms, and can present numerous ways, and even migraine is present in ms pts at a frequency of 2-4 times normals.  However, your muscle spasms could represent a separate process in hip, back, pelvis. (unlikely, but if you were given steroids, check for avascular necrosis in hip).  Lastly, do not want to second guess your doc, but there are oral meds now (no needles).

i have been diganosed with both trigeminal neralgia and occipital neuralgia. i also have some memory problems and muscle spasms . could i have ms?

Consult Neurologist: Trgeminal neuralgia has been reported in patients with ms.You have to ask this question from your neyrologist as he/she is the only one can tell you if you do or not based on your symptoms, examination and MRI exam etc .
So consult your neurologist about ms and you.

No: Someone has been reading too many medical horror stories. It is mega highly unlikely that spasms in an otherwise healthy 20 year old represent anything but overuse or electrolyte disturbance. The diseases you mention generally do not begin like that. See your family doc for an evaluation and reassurance of the correct diagnosis, so you can get this problem resolved.

good morning, it's been a while i have symptoms of eye muscle spasm in my right eye feels like sharp sticking a needle, is this one of the symptoms of ms? thanks?

: A leading symptom of "MS" is intranuclear ophthalmoplegia, but this is usually non-painful, and can be elicited by a simple eye exam by a neurologist (lateral gaze nystagmus).  Simple muscle spasm which is painful is usually not a symptom of "MS".  Get a referral to a neurologist or ophthalmologist.
