A leading symptom of "MS" is intranuclear ophthalmoplegia, but this is usually non-painful, and can be elicited by a simple eye exam by a neurologist (lateral gaze nystagmus). Simple muscle spasm which is painful is usually not a symptom of "MS". Get a referral to a neurologist or ophthalmologist.

Your sharp pain in one eye is NOT a sign of MS, or even the way optic neuritis would present. But the severity might suggest a corneal abrasion or even an acute glaucomatous episode. See an opthalmologist today.
