Lovenox (enoxaparin): Lovenox (enoxaparin) should not cause body pain or nausea. If you have nausea or generalized body pain- those are not related to the Lovenox (enoxaparin) injection. That means- you should discuss with your doctor other explanation of your symptoms.

Lovenox (enoxaparin) & bones: Yes, long-term use of Lovenox (enoxaparin) over many months is known to cause bone loss. If this is a concern, a different anticoagulant shot known as Arixtra can be considered. Additionally, there are new oral anticoagulants such as xarelto that can be considered as well.

Not usually: I have never seen weight gain from any Heparin formulation

Accepted Answer

Headache: Headaches are not a common side effete from Lovenox (enoxaparin).  If you had spinal anesthesia, that may be a reason for your headaches.  Make sure you hydrate well and if your headaches continue, you need to get in to be evaluated.

how can i help speed up healing of hematomas on my abdomen caused by lovenox (enoxaparin) injections? i really want to make sure these disappear. what can i do?

Apply Heat: Heat will increase the circulation and speed up resolution of the hematoma.

PS Applying ice after the injection may reduce the hematoma itself.

can you tell me if lovenox is used in house for treatment purposes, is there any reason not to go ahead and start coumadin (warfarin) on day 1?

You can: It will take about 5 days for Coumadin (warfarin) to become therapeutic. It makes sense to start on day one. (i do).

moms been on lovenox (enoxaparin) for 2 yrs now. she has serious bruising on abdomen which causes her pain. any way to minimize the bruising?

Accepted Answer

Not really: Lovenox (enoxaparin) is an anticoagulant. It leads to easy bruising, and the injection itself leads to bruising. The only thing that can be changed is the medication (ask if there is an alternative to Lovenox that is not injected).

my daughter was taken off lovenox after being on it for 4 months can this cause brain hemorrhage or stroke?

i had a small pneumothorax that came from surgery a week ago. it was now drained with chest tube. it collected blood 300ml slowly during 24h. i am using lovenox (enoxaparin). was the  bleeding caused by tube?

Accepted Answer

Depends....: Lovenox (enoxaparin) is a blood thinner and bleeding is a potential side-effect. If you were receiving Lovenox (enoxaparin) in a dose to prevent clots, then bleeding from it is less likely. But, if you were taking a treatment dose of Lovenox (enoxaparin) (usually twice daily), then there is a higher risk of bleeding from the Lovenox (enoxaparin) therapy.

im 28. had dvt after car accident. on lovenox (enoxaparin) for 6 weeks. blood work showed ast and alt to be very elevated. can lovenox (enoxaparin) cause this? thank you

Possible.: A rare consequence of Lovenox/Enoxaparin use is elevation of Liver Function Tests such as AST and ALT.
