Not a problem: I see no reason to change a kids diet while he's on antibiotics.Some antibiotics need to be given at specific times with respect to meals, but i don't stop their milk or milk substitute because of a cough.

Lactose intolerance: Classic symptoms are bloating, belching, diarrhea,abdominal cramps. You may have a degree of laryngopharyngeal reflux as part of your symptoms.

mucus in poop, at least once a week, swollen belly sometimes hurts. possibly ibs but never diagnosed, not sure if its related to gluten or lactose intolerance as i also have never been diagnosed ?

think 2 yo is lactose intolerant. we used lactose free formula &pediasure. he gets mucus in stool now which may be re: milk. what should we try? soy?

Lactose or no?: Pediasure is not lactose free, so if he was drinking that and tolerating it, i doubt he is completely lactose intolerant. Lactose intolerance usually makes you gassy and crampy, not so much mucous in stool. This usually due to a protein intolerance if it is dietary in origin at all. If it is a protein sensitivity, then soy, almond or goats milk may be helpful. A peds GI doc may be really helpful!

Not from lactose: Lactose intolerance does not usually cause a string of mucus (blood) in stool. Given your age and assuming that is no strong family history of colon cancer or polyps, I would not worry over this problem unless it is a recurrent issue.

Normal: After ejaculation, semen is tapioca-like and clumpy. It then liquifies over a 1 hour period and becomes stringy like molasses. Stringiness, to some degree, is normal.

Pollution: Usually grey mucous means that you have been in a polluted or smoky area and your body is trying to get rid of this material and prevent it from getting into your lungs. 
If you live in a polluted city it may be hard to avoid inhaling the polluted air.
If you are coughing alot, felling sick, or wheezing then you should see a doctor.
