how do i switch from a aha to a bha. i was using benoxyl peroxide for years and i switched to kojic acid which destroyed my skin. after using it for weeks i want to switch back. it made my acne worse, how do i go about doing that safely?

: Allow 24 hours for the Kojic acid to work its way out of the superficial layers. Wash with non medicated face cleanser as normal for those 24 hours, then you can return to the Benzoyl peroxide wash after that. Make sure to allow for initial dryness/redness as your face gets used to the benzoyl peroxide again.

I wouldn't: If you use a depigmenting cream (and this stuff isn't a vitamin), you risk disfiguring yourself. It probably won't touch the dark circles. You need to manage your acne like the adult that you now are. You can do it. If topical benzoyl peroxide has not cleared you in two weeks, your physician can give you prescription-strength Rx to add. In my experience: a product like the kojic acid lightening cream would be more likely to be impacting or causing the facial bumps than the Retin-A/retinoid product. It does cause skin irritation in certain individuals. I would stop the lightening cream and see what happens. It might take 2-4 weeks to see any affect.
