Accepted Answer

Pharmacy: You wlll need a store which has an operating "pharmacy" like Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, or a small locally run one.   And of course you will need a doctor's prescription, as well.

i left my birth control in my glove compartment of car overnight and it is summer. will my bc still be effective? it says to store below 86 degrees f

Should be fine : the heat effects are long term mainly for long term storage. One night in a warm car should not cause problems

Accepted Answer

Define hot ?: These pills are subject to degradation if left exposed to extreme heat, as would happen in a parked car during the summer (140F). It would be less likely in a common warm home 75-90F  but might if higher/longer. They are meant to be stored in an air conditioned environment away from moisture. It is all relative.

can my birth control pills may get damaged by the heat?on the package it says to store the pills in temperature lower than 25 degrees, and in my house right now is tipically 25-26 desgrees and it might get hotter. will they not work now?

: You could store your pills in the fridge. A short term exposure to the temperature you mentioned should not affect the efficacy of the medication.
For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs.

: Oral contraceptives are not affected in terms of potency, even at 30 C.  Refrigerate if you are concerned about higher temp's.

Not necessary: Room temperature even if hot as long as you are able to stay here is fine.

Take a test: If you think you might be pregnant check then check a home pregnancy test. They are cheap, reliable and available  at any pharmacy. Being on birth control does not affect the test results.

Pregnancy test: A store bought pregnancy tests can detect a pregnancy NO earlier than 7 days after conception.  You need to take  takes a minimum of 14 days, 21  days to be sure to prevent pregnancy.  Three days of oral contraceptives is not adequate to prevent pregnancy.   A blood pregnancy test can detect pregnancy within 72 hours after conception.

Not likely.: If you checked a urine pregnancy test appropriately and it is negative, you should be very comfortable with that diagnosis (i.e. No pregnancy). If you still have concerns, talk to your gynecologist without delay.

Take once daily: It is always good for your system to have a ritual or habit when it comes to taking your pills.  But, the more important rule is to take the birth control at least daily as prescribed.
