my daughter was given zpak for r ear infection on friday by saturday night l ear now also hurts bad.  is antibiotic earning? she's 11 should i wait or take her back to be seen again

Call your MD: You should call your MD right away. Does your daughter have a penicillin allergy? Studies show that macrocodes like azithromycin has limited activity against Haemophilus influenzae and Streptococcus pneumoniae. The physician should also treat her pain. You can use children's tylenol (acetaminophen) and contact your pediatrician to make sure your daughter improves. Good luck.

Is it a pill or pack: If you are prescribed two Zpacks to take one after the other by you MD

But if your question is if you can take next pill out of the Z pack in less than 24 hours.The answer is yes

You may clarify your prescription.Usually two Zpacks are not prescribed one after the other as the drug remains in your body 5 days after you finish the pack
And you may have to wait 5 days to start next pack

Yes: The half life of Maxalt (rizatriptan) is about 3-4 hrs, and should not be any issue with your long-acting antibiotic.

Accepted Answer

Right away: You can take these drugs at the same time if it's desired. The zithromax has a long half life and will remain in your body for 5 days after you stop taking it.  Clindamycin's half life is much shorter and it will be eliminated from your body much more rapidly after stopping it.

1 gram at one time: The treatment for simple chlamydia STD infections in teens and adults can be Zithromax 1 gram (4 of the 250mg tablets) taken all at one time, in a person not allergic to Zithromax. Of course, all sexual partners of the patient have to be treated also... without exceptions or else the infection will reoccur. Also, no sex for at least a week after taking the medication, for each and every person.

Not an easy question: If you are talking about a 1000mg  single dose for sexually transmitted diseases (std), i would recommend you wait and be retested before resuming activity. The type and how long you were infected may be determining  factors. Again, consult your physician before resuming activity.

Ok: Sometimes this is prescribed for a sexually transmitted disease in this dose.  It may cause stomachache, nausea or diarrhea, which are short term.
