Most often: It is either slightly uncomfortable or there is no discomfort. Occasionally there is pain if the sutures were left in too long. Usually it is pretty easy and painless.

You might be : Guarding, you may have developed a peroneal or extensor spasm. Discuss with your doctor.

No: Typically, absorbable sutures are used, where they will break down as the wound heals and no sutures need to be removed.  If sutures do have to be removed, as long as the sutures have not gotten embedded into the skin, they are just cut and pulled out.  You may feel a slight pulling sensation as they are pulled out.

Wisdom tooth: Sutures are not meant to last more that a week or so. However, if you feel any lumps or discomfort, have the dentist who removed your tooth see you for a follow up evaluation.  This is part of the responsibility of your dentist.

i got the bone removed out of my pinky toe on thursday. i still have stitches but it doesn't hurt bad today. can i go and play bingo for five hours?

Probably, but…: Check with surgeon first. May have provided flat-bottomed shoe for walking; otherwise, use crutches carefully. Protect the surgical site as much as possible; elevate foot on chair with pillow to prevent swelling. Take along any pain med provided so can use it if needed. Don't drive self; have someone else drive you. Have fun—if surgeon says it's ok.

Normal healing : Can cause itching and pain due to inflammatory mediators 
If pain does not go away in a week or two see your doctor

i had skin cancer & stitches removed week ago on the side of my nose. it is slightly red & i have a little lump now. it doesn't hurt to touch it but i don't like the nose being this color & i definitely do not like the small lump. will both go away?

: You are fortunate to have had the cancer removed before it required a wider greatly difuguring treatment. It is too soon after the surgery to be able to assess the overall esthetic outcome, but you should definitely ask the surgeon who treated you for their assessment of the healing progrees. Not usually: Most often you just feel a little tugging. Once in a  while a stitch or staple might require a little more effort if skin has grown around it - that is why it is important to have them removed at the time the doctor specifies. Take care.

NSAID: Usually that is not a significant source of pain. However, if it is really bothersome than consider use of acetominophen or a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory. Acupuncture can also help.
