Unfortunately: Intramuscular penicillin contains a pain reliever in it but it still is painful.

Depends: It would be nice to know about your problem in more detail and also about the shot you are getting. There are different medications introduced for different reasons. You may experience from very little to quite a bit of pain. Sometimes it takes a little while for the shot to start working and you may end up having more pain at first.

Possible nerve : It is possible the needle used for the injection injured a nerve in the area - it depends on how the pain feels.  Also, may be related to infection if the area is hot and has drainage and you're experiencing a fever.

No: You do not need narcotics (pain shot) for this.  You need to get some immodium at your pharmacy.  It is otc.

Some : Some injectable fillers- like Perlane (dermal fillers) are available with a numbing medication mixed in. Topical Lidocaine on the skin will help alleviate the discomfort. After pre-treament, the injection of the filler feels more like pressure than pain.

It's much better : Than surgical pain.  You'll feel a pinch and some mild burning. Then the injected area will become numb. After that you may feel some pressure, but you shouldn't have any pain in the surgical area.

Immunizations : deposit liquid under the skin inside the muscle and can take some time to absorb. Don't do anything to the site or you may irritate it and make it worse. It will resolve on its own over the next few days. If it gets red or you get a fever, call your doctor for advice.

No: Depo-provera will not harm an existing pregnancy. If you get your injections regularly, depo-provera is very effective. If there is any concern, request a urine pregnancy test before your injection.

can you say if it could it hurt if 2 of your baby teeth have to get removed and at the top.will the shot hurt?

Accepted Answer

Not much: You will be numb for the extraction so that will not hurt, but if you are concerned about this then talk to your dentist about sedation.  The dentist will, use a topical anesthetic before the injection so, even this will not be painful.  
You will not feel anything more than when you have a routine filling. Hope this helps.
