No: If you are having a toothache you are more likely to get some relief using clove oil. It has anesthetic and analgesic properties and is actually used as an ingredient in some of the products a dentist uses. Tooth aches usually don't get better and if they do they will flare up again at some point so you should get evaluated by a dentist. You can try otc nsaids to help with the pain also.

Treatments..: Other than taking pain meds to alleviate your discomfort for a short while, until you can get to a dentist, there are no diy dentistry tips i can give you... They just don't exist. You can try temporary dental filling material from your pharmacy, but it will be of limited value. The pain will only get worse in a short time, so make the call.

Possibly: It is probably the acetaminophen and the aspirin in excedrin that help the toothache. if you don't have acetaminophen or ibuprofen around, I suppose you could try excedrin.

Advil (ibuprofen): Children's liquid advil (ibuprofen) or Ibuprofen would work well. Usually there is 100mg in a teaspoon. The dose for an adult is 600mg (6 tsp) to 800mg (8tsp) every six hours.

Yes in some cases: If you have an abscessed tooth the penicillin will help the pain. It will not cure the problem though. If it is an abcessed tooth you will need root canal or extraction.

NO!: "canker sores" are a herpes virus infection.  Toothaches caused by bacteria infecting the nerve of the tooth.  Different problems.  Different treatments.  See your dentist now for diagnosis and treatment.  This is not a diy project.  You can't purchase a salve, jell, pill, liquid off the shelves in the pharmacy that will cure an infected tooth.  Please call your dentist to have infection cured.

Multiple: Headache/toothache combination may or may not be related.  There may be separate causes.  However, infections (dental, sinus, etc) and/or malocclusion can cause localized or referred pain.  See your family doctor to evaluate your headaches.  See your general dentist to evaluate your toothaches.  They may want to refer you for specialist evaluation.  Ask them to consult with each other.
