There would be discomfort and symptoms of infection that need treatment in these circumstances.  Only if the infection got to the interior of the eye would there be any issue of vision changes.

Staph is seldom transmitted from inanimate objects so normal cleansing of your home should be adequate.  One is unlikely to eliminate staph aureus entirely.  It is often part of our normal bacterial flora and does not produce infection unless circumstances predispose.

Peroxide: Peroxide can damage good tissue, so it would be better to clean the area with betadine or chlorhexidine.

Has the wound : Been cleaned? Are you on antibiotics? Was a tetanus booster shot indicated?  Has your conditioned worsened?  Nsaid's can help with pain - but get medically checked if needed.
