No.: I am not sure there is benefit to drinking more water than you really need. At your age your thirst is a good guide for your hydration requirements unless you are doing something that could change your hydration status rapidly such as exercising in the heat.

Aspartame: If you being encouraged to drink water and you are having difficulty achieving this goal, then adding artificial sweeteners may be beneficial. This sweetener has been studied by the fda and at current consumption levels is deemed safe. But remember, this is a chemical additive and it may be better to do without.

i really hate drinking water. i only drink 2 bottles of dasani or ozarka and quit. in order for me to get more in, is it okay to add crystal light etc?

Yes: Many people do not like drinking plain water and prefer something with flavor. Flavored waters are in general a good way to take in more water without all the added ingredients of other types of drinks.

Get it tested: I would suggest to get the urine tested for the cause of symptoms to see if there is any abnormality with the urine as part of assessment of the condition.

Crystals.: This is most certainly not cancer, but could be crystals related to concentrated urine due to dehydration.  Left unchecked this may lead to formation of large crystals which we call kidney stones.  They can be very painful.  You should see someone to have  a urinalysis to check.

His pediatrician will look for medical causes of proteinuria. Urate crystals can be seen in the diapers of healthy breast-fed babies. If your baby is dehydrated from sweating ; is not gaining weight appropriately,  his doctor may test for cystic fibrosis.

Polydipsia is the term used in medicine to describe the symptom. It is important to get blood and urine tests to determine if one of those conditions is present so treatment can get started as soon as possible.

Not if exercising...: Exercise and increased ambient heat will increase fluid requirements over and above the two liter, minimum threshold. Id you are engaged in high intensity sporting activities and become thirsty, you are finished, because you will lose more water than your GI tract can absorb: hence the rule, drink when not thirsty!
