Most often: Anal itching in an adult is from either excess caffeine/beer or excess moisture or possibly yeast infection. I do not use any ointments for anal itching. Cut out the caffeine and beer and use plain cornstarch powder liberally and frequently to your bottom. If itching is waking from sleep, caffeine is the most likely culprit. Also consider pin worms but rare in adult.

can i take an expired gas x extra strength? i took one, it is 5 months old. will it harm me??i have lots of gases and a bit of soft stool. what can i take if i have problems sleeping? i tool a benadryl 25 mg 2 to 3 days ago. i appreciate your help?

: Expiration dates indicate that a medication will start to lose effectiveness. It will not harm you but may not be as effective. Gas X is useful for counteracting excess gas production. Take a probiotic with fiber for soft stool. Benadryl is a good occasional medication for problems sleeping, but you should talk to your Dr about the cause of your insomnia and ways to manage bedtime routines.

It can be normal: All narcotics can cause itching.  Most likely the 6-8 hours is the delay in absorption of the drug from your patch.  Given the sedating effect of Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and fentanyl combined it might be better to use a non-sedating antihistamine like fexofenadine
