No: Antibiotics usually do not cause a missed period  but the underlying cause for which you are taking the antibiotics can affect the period. Any physical stress such as illness or psychological stress can affect ovulation and cause an irregular period. It is always important to take a pregnancy test when the period is late.

Chlamydia?: Did you take the azithromycin for chlamydia? If you did, then that is the cause of the bleeding. Also, if your partner tests positive, then you may have been reinfected today.

No: Azithromycin (Zithromax) does not cause weight gain, regardless of whether it's taken for 1 day or 1 month. However, it can cause nausea and sometimes even diarrhea or vomiting... which means it might cause temporary mild weight loss, due to not wanting to eat.

just finished azithromycin and doxy. would those cause pain on side of the tongue but when touched nothing is felt? what could the pain be from?

Drug side effects: Azithromycin has been known to cause a sore tongue which is rare and usually goes away after a few days. If symptoms persist beyond 3 days, see your md.

so i'm taken one powder dose of azithromycin for ureaplasma. i ask my doctor can i go on something longer cause  i dont think it work.i still have symptoms.she told me no and u dont have to retest for it.i disagree. any advice?

Yellowish stool: The antibiotic treatment probably changed the makeup of your intestinal bacterial flora and loosened your bowel movements so that there is more rapid transit through the intestinal tract giving less time for pigmentation. I recommend taking probiotics in an effort to restore more normal bacterial makeup of your intestines. Discuss this with your physician

Diagnosis?: Were you cultured for strep?  If so, and it was positive, azithromycin may not be good enough.  We double the regular dose in kids with strep, but don't do it in adults normally, but I wonder, personally, if we should do so.  If you are improving then, it takes a while for tonsils to return to normal size.  if you still have fever and pain, or no improvement, get checked again.
