Side effect: The nsaids have a side effect of retaining fluid and can cause a host of other bad problems.
They are not innocuous pills to be taken like candy. This fluid retention is a serious issue. And you need to avoid these medications

better to find ou what is toxic in your body that needs to be cleansed rather then take dangerous medication to cover symptoms.

Nope: Macrodantin is not the culprit..you need an in person visit to determine the reason for the swelling..local issues have to be ruled out..vein problems etc.

Several things: swelling in both feet and ankles can be caused by a heart condition, kidney problem, lymphatic problem or circulatory problems such as Venous insufficiency or phlebitis.  It will probably require some testing to figure it out.

No: You an antibiotic would be warranted if you had an infection like a cellulitis. Swelling is not necessarily an infection. Also, if a cellulitis was present cuprous would be a bad choice as it has no gram positive coverage. Antibiotics should be used judiciously not indiscriminately.

There : There are many causes for ankle swelling usually caused by fluid in these tissues called edema. Some blood pressure drugs like amlodipine commonly  cause edema. Some diabetes drugs like Actos (pioglitazone)  also do. There is increased edema with Gabapentin and anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen. And edema is more likely in overweight people who have sleep apnea. There are other causes but these are common causes of edema that affects both ankles. Discuss this new symptom with your doctor. For now, try to keep your legs elevated when you are sitting and keep your sodium intake down
