Kids get lumps from injuries, swollen lymph nodes from infection.
Adults get "lumps" from the above plus lipomas and non-cancerous growths.
Something that is growing or otherwise concerning should be evaluated.

No. : The differential diagnosis for a lump in the arm is long indeed, and includes things that can be easily treated as well as things that are life threatening. One thing is for sure....It is not normal to have a mass on your arm. You should see your dr. To be evaluated. Good luck to you.

No: It just means a "lump" of some sort.  They can be cysts, lipomas, vascular structures, lots of different things.  It doesn't automatically mean cancer.  It does mean it should be investigated.

Not necessarily: It can be several things and it most likely isn't cancer. You need to get it checked out by a primary care doctor or gynecologist to know for sure.

No: If you have a palpable lump that is new or changed over time you should have that evaluated with breast ultrasound or diagnostic mammogram and possibly biopsied.  A negative screening mammogram should not be relied on if a lesion is present.

Not necessarily: Lumps anywhere are either benign or cancerous. Benign lumps in neck are frequently caused by infections in the throat which are common(colds and coughs due to viruses). But cancer can affect the neck lymph nodes or any other organs like thyroid or inside the mouth, which can show up as an enlarged neck nodes. You need to think cancer when the lump is painless and is continuing to  grow for &gt;3-4 wk.

No, not for sure: Lumps can be benign or cancerous. A biopsy is the only way to be sure that cancer is or is not the cause of a lump.

Get seen now: If it's a new mass in your scrotum and you don't know what it is, get with your physician without delay. Don't try to second-guess odds.

No: Always and never are words we seldom use in medicine. That said, any suspicious lumps should be evaluated and women should faithfully get their age and risk-appropriate screening tests (like mammograms).  Better be safe than sorry.
