Possibly: It takes time for the Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud to take effect and there are women who can get pregnant at any time of their cycle. I recommend weekly urine home pregnancy tests and follow up with your doctor this week.

Hormones or surgery: Endometriosis is a condition where the cells that line the inside of the uterus are in the wrong place such as on pelvic surfaces;  every month these areas menstruate and this causes pain.  Endometriosis is stimulated by estrogen so turning off your own estrogen will temporarily help: pills or hormone shots etc.  The only way however to really get rid of it is to remove it laparoscopically.

i noticed my anxiety acts up real bad during period what does this mean and can hormonal inbalance cause anxiety i have it all the time comes and goes?

PMS: Anxiety, irritability and mood swings are very common symptoms of pms and are related to hormonal changes in the menstrual  cycle. Some women are more sensitive than others. Please talk to your ob-gyn about it. Pms is treatable.

mirena (levonorgestrel) was put in 6 years ago for very heavy periods. not needed for birth control bc i had tubes tied. now i have hormonal acne. is the iud to blame?

IUD expired: Your Mirena (levonorgestrel) IUD expired last year. It is only good for five years. If your acne recently appeared it is not likely from Mirena (levonorgestrel) now that it has expired. It needs to be removed at this point.

: During these times there are significant changes in certain hormone levels which may be the cause of your excessive sweating.

No: You cannot be pregnant and have your period. The lining of the uterus is broken down and shed out with menstrual blood during the period to prepare for renewal before the next ovulation.

Not reliably: In general, the Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud will stop periods for 25% (up to 50% ) of users, but it's hard to predict who will be the lucky ones whose periods stop.  I have had patients use 'continuous' birth control pills for a couple of months with their iud, in an attempt to stop the periods from coming, with some success, but it doesn't always work.
