If uncertain check with a doctor, especially if this is a large wound.  If caked especially thickly start by soaking with a soaked wash rag or towel then flush gently.

Safe!: Calamine lotion it is safe in children as long as it is applied topically. Apply 1-4 times/day as needed; reapply after bathing. Should not applied over open wounds.

Now: Once the sutures are out, the skin is sealed. Safe to use creams/ointments. None have ever been proven to make much if a difference though.

Straight aloe vera: Sap from the leaf of the plant may be helpful. How serious is the burn?  When was your last tetanus shot? Any signs of infection?

Overwashing?: Stop washing so much. It dries out the skin. Keep using lotion. See a dermatologist if the problem continues.
