so they say bc is normally very effective in preventing pregnancy because it stops ovulation. in the rare occasion that a woman does become pregnant on bc, how does that happen if she doesnt ovulate due to bc??

: Very effective is not the same as 100%. Ovulation can occur in spite of the pill and even if taken perfectly, so if a pregnancy occurs that is what happened.

No: Ovulation with subsequent fertilization - pregnancy - prevents further ovulation during the course of your pregnancy.  If you breastfeed after delivery, this usually suppresses ovulation as well.

Yes: If you conceived and ovulated on Aug.1, your next period isn't due until Aug. 15. It could still be too early for the pregnancy test to be positive. I'm not sure how you know you conceived. If your period hasn't started by next week, repeat the pregnancy test then

Fertile period: The day after ovulation is definitely within the most fertile time and, barring other problems,if you have unprotected intercourse them, there is a strong possibility of pregnancy. Hope this helps.

Yes.: Sperm can survive 3-5 days in the cervix especially.

Much: Ovulation mucus is thin and stretchy and occurs before ovulation, which is usually before the middle of the month.  Pregnancy mucus is heavier, not thin and stretchy, and occurs only after you've missed a period and are pregnant.

1-2: Sperm can live for up to around 72 hours in the female reproductive tract.  5-6 days is pushing it, so if you want to conceive, definitely 1-2 days.  For a typical woman, most fertile days are days 9-14 with day #1 being the first day of her menstrual cycle/bleeding.  Good luck!

Yes: If you had unprotected sex, you can become pregnant at any time. Also, 2-3 days post ovulation, may still be your fertile time.

Generally: the egg does not remain viable for that long, so it would be unlikely.
