OK but...: As far as i can tell metformin does not interact with vitamins but you will likely get more benefit from you prenatal vitamin by taking it earlier in the day. Prenatal vitamins contain b vitamins which can often increase your energy and some people may have trouble sleeping if they take them in the evening.

Yes, you may: As long as you are not on Coumadin or warfarin, vitamin k is fine to take with metformin.

Low B12 possible: Metformin can cause the body to become depleted of vitamin b12.  Often, an non-prescription supplement can correct this, but it is always a good idea to get a level checked to see if you need a supplement before you start taking one.

Lose weight: At this forum we are not able to prescribe any medication. In any case, there is no shortcut and you need to lose weight.
Have a healthy diet, exercise 30 minutes/day, drink plenty of water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs. For nutrition: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/.

No. : Metformon and Folic Acid don't interact. Women of childbearing age should take Folic Acid to reduce the incidence of neural tube defects. Continue as u r!

i take 1000mg metformin daily for pcos. is it ok to take 2prenatal vitamins, as well as 1500-2000mg inisitol vitamin as well?feeling extreme fatigue!

Increase Metformin: First, i recommend doubling your metformin to 2, 000 mg per day.  Second, i suggest checking your thyroid status.  I have found most of my pcos patients to be hypothyroid.

Yes: Metformin can cause leg cramps; vitamin B may not eliminate them yet you should  not harm yourself if you try it in the recommended dosages

Prenatal plus: Most prenatal vitamins are effective.Check to see the prenatal has sufficient folic acid.

Weight loss: Getting your body to your ideal body weight is the most important step in managing PCOS. If you are overweight then work on weight control. This is the key. Mineral supplementation is not needed.
