help docs! i'm trying to find out what causes appendicitis, flatulence, ulcers, diabetes, and constipation?

i have a black and tarry stool. at the same time i have a constipation; but after endoscopy i don't have an ulcer. what is the main reason to have a black stool and constipation if not an ulcer?

See below: Generally black tarry stool indicates upper gastrointestinal bleeding. Iron supplements and bismuth subsalicylate(Pepto-Bismal) can also turn stool black, although usually not tarry. If the endoscopy was normal you may be bleeding from the small intestine from Vascular anomalies( Angiodysplasia). Special studies are needed to diagnose these. Speak with your GI specialist.

could my stomach ulcer be the cause of my weight gain, (and inability to loose it) bloating, burning upper stomach, constipation, and dhiarria?

No.: Ulcers don't cause weight gain, although they can certainly cause burning in the stomach area.  Bloating, constipation and diarrhea are likely separate from the ulcer.  Any time i hear this many abdominal complaints, what comes to mind is the probable need for dietary change, at the very least.  You could have irritably bowel syndrome or several other problems as well.  See your doctor.

i have stomach pain when i am hungry. in addition i have constipation too. does constipation create gas that cause pain? or is it a symptom of ulcer

Accepted Answer

Unclear cause: Ulcers typically cause upper abdominal pain and could be associated with nausea and/or GI bleeding.  Pain from constipation is typically in the lower abdomen.  I'd suggest you address the constipation first with a high fiber diet, stool softeners (e.g. Colace) and fiber supplement (e.g. Metamucil).  You may also need a laxative in which case i suggest mom or miralax (polyethylene glycol).  Avoid taking asa/nsaids.

No: All GI complaints mentioned are totally unrelated to a stomach ulcer.  The latter produces upper midline abdominal pain relieved by food or antiacids and if perforating posteriorly into lesser sac, the space behind the stomach, back pain develops.  Constipation or loose stool related to diet or inflammation of bowel and if in sigmoid colon with diverticular disease. lt. lower abodiminal pain noted

Absolutely-depending: on agents, quantities &amp; what altered responses which happen within you. Many laxatives stimulate ↑ed intestinal activity, contractions,  intestinal cramping. While ulcers unlikely, intestinal cramping can be quite variable &amp; painful. Agents may not be effective &amp; may promote future constipation. Your primary physician always=self. (Docs  advise, paid for treating client&#x27;s problems, not successes.)

Hard to say: Ulcers usually hurt, but not always.  Bloating is unusual.  You can try an OTC acid blocker for a few days and if it doesn't get better, be seen.  Make sure you're not drinking alcohol, coffee, acidic stuff like soda, and eat bland foods that do not make you feel worse.  Good luck!

Constipation: Gastric ulcers are serious. I hope you are taking best care of your stomach.  Constipation is typically a food and activity problem.  Daily, make sure you eat high fiber foods: apple with skin, pear with skin, bran, whole grain oatmeal, peach with skin, apricot with skin, celery, asparagus, prune, prune juice; then walk for 20 min twice a day; minimize bread, sugar, muffin, pizza, pasta;

suffer from rectal ulcer with sessile polyp, i have continuos bloody mucous bleeding with constipation, am on pentasa (mesalamine) what to do else?

Rectal Ulcer: You are on Mesalamine for uc?  Of course, the bleeding and mucus is likely associated with active ulcerative colitis. A large sessile polyp, if it is a true polyp and not a uc pseudo polyp,  can secrete mucus itself. It sounds to me that your ulcerative colitis is still not under control. Having said that, the rectal ulcer is likely associated also with your active disease. Get a 2nd opinion.
