GI upset: A simple way to v nausea is w Ginger. You can drink nibble on crystallized ginger or pour boiling water over freshly sliced organic ginger &amp; steep at least 5 min in a covered pot. Sip.  Aromatherapy: Sweet Orange (Citrus Sinensis), Peitigrain (Citrus reticulata), Mandarin (Citrus reticulata) are different citrus scents that can v nausea.  If sx's persist or you develop significant abdominal pain

Nausea: Indications for Tums (calcium carbonate) is Tums (calcium carbonate) indigestion, heart burn &amp; calcium deficiency.  Indications for Pepto Bismol is indigestion, heartburn, nausea, diarrhea &amp; upset stomach. Pepto Bismol is more likely to impact nausea.

It's worth: a try..however remember that TUMS contain a lot of CALCIUM so try not to overdo (your Pre-Natal vitamins have the correct amount of Calcium!
Consult with your OB-GYN, there are medications which are now considered safe.....

Rule out pregnancy: There are many, many causes of nausea. In women with nausea, the first and easiest thing to check is whether you are pregnant. Vitamins and birth control pills can cause nausea. If it is persisting more than a few days, see your doctor for a check up.

is it ok to take tums about an hour after taking alka seltzer? nausea and acid reflux have been the symptoms for these meds and i've been taking alka seltzer for over w weeks so i want to switch to tums?

: You should not take alka-seltzer for those symptoms. You should stop it and take Tums but I will prefer either a histamine-2 antagonist such as famotidine (pepcid AC) or a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) such as omeprazole (Prilosec OTC) or prevacid or nexium. Take care.

if i took tums for reflux 10 min ago, can i take 8mg zofran for my nausea (prescribed by doc). will the tums prevent absorption or something?

It's fine.: The Tums will not affect absorption of the Zofran. Feel free to use both of them. Good luck.

why do i get nausea every night? me and my body are getting tired of having to take pepto bismol or tums (calcium carbonate) to deal with it, just to sleep. :(

Gastritis or GERD: I suspect you may have either gastritis (inflammation of the stomach lining) or gerd (gastroesophageal reflux disease or acid reflux).  Diet (caffeine, chocolate, alcohol), tobacco, medications (ibuprofen for example), and infections (h. Pylori) can all be possible causes for the inflammation.  I would suggest you see your primary care doctor to discuss symptoms and possible treatment options.

after endoscopy have mild chronic gastritis. all biopsies were benign. much better after couple of months but feel little nausea in mornings then wears off.also belch up pieces of food with sour taste after evening meal. couple of tums help that?
