No.: Ulcers don't cause weight gain, although they can certainly cause burning in the stomach area.  Bloating, constipation and diarrhea are likely separate from the ulcer.  Any time i hear this many abdominal complaints, what comes to mind is the probable need for dietary change, at the very least.  You could have irritably bowel syndrome or several other problems as well.  See your doctor.

Anti gas: Try some over the counter anti gas preparations. If no relief, see your doctor. It could be that you have gastroparesis associated with the gerd, a condition where the stomach doesn't empty right, but this is fairly unlikely.

Occult gi bleeding: May have invasive enterocolitis. You should see a GI specialist for a formal evaluation should include lab and stool studies and colonoscopy and possibly an egd.

IBD: Ibd is a term to describe either ulcerative colitis or crohn's disease.  Their manifestations are quite different from one another.  With crohn's disease, it can present with inflammation at anywhere in the intestinal tract, so oral ulcer development is possible.  Ulcerative colitis localizes in the colon only.  Abdominal pain/distention can occur in  both.

Maybe, yes: An ulcer could cause these symptoms and may mean the ulcer is more active and needs different treatment. Get back in touch with the doctor(s) who diagnosed and are treating the ulcer. Good luck.

Sudden weight gain can due to pregnancy or fluid retention from another cause . We need to know if this person feels unwell or normal?

No: All GI complaints mentioned are totally unrelated to a stomach ulcer.  The latter produces upper midline abdominal pain relieved by food or antiacids and if perforating posteriorly into lesser sac, the space behind the stomach, back pain develops.  Constipation or loose stool related to diet or inflammation of bowel and if in sigmoid colon with diverticular disease. lt. lower abodiminal pain noted

Could be!: You may have an ulcer!  But there are other causes of pain there.  Since the pain has lasted two days, get seen today, please.  Also get checked for H. pylori, a germ that can cause ulcers and stomach pain, that is pretty common.  Don't take aspirin, ibuprofen or naprosyn or other drugs in this class, as they make stomach problems worse.  Good luck!

Zantac: Zantac is effective in treating hyperacidity, reflux, gastritis, and peptic ulcers. Your symptoms suggest gas buildup and zantac may be ineffective. Try avoiding gassy foods and soda and take simethicone after meals to prevent gas buildup. A gastroenterologist can evaluate and treat you if needed.
