: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, what you described does not add up. There are no valid tests on dried urine.

B12 deficiency has been known for a long time to cause cognitive problems but not folate (folic acid)

The person could also be severely agitated or excited. An excess of glutamate which is an excitatory neurotransmitter in the brain has been proposed as a mechanism. Benzodiazepines which inhibit brain activity and ECT have been used as treatment.
