UV : Uv light may cause damage to sensitive tissues in the eye and increase the progression of cataracts. In addition to dr. Caster's recommendations and comments, i also recommend sunglasses with high uv rating to protect your eyes from harmful uv rays.

what are some possible explanations for my left pupil not dilating? my left eye does not take in as much light as my right eye in the dark. i did some experiments and made some observations that the left pupil does not dilate.

There : There are many possible causes for poor dilation.  In some cases, poor dilation may be a sign of a serious medical problem.  An examination is necessary for an accurate diagnosis.

Possible causes include a physiologically small pupil (normal for you), effect of a medication, synechiae (scarring of the iris many times due to intraocular inflammation), or a horner's syndrome (dysfunction of the sympathetic of flight-or-fight system).

I recommend you see an ophthalmologist for further evaluation.

i have the worst headache that i have ever had on my right side. my right pupil is fully dilated.what can i do for the pain? dark & ice are no help.

Go to ER: If you are having the a somewhat sudden headache that is the worst of your life, go to the er.  Although not serious causes can certainly cause this type of headache, it can also be something serious.  
The first time this happens it is worth a trip to the er for a ct.

NO : This is not something you want to do . The purpose is to see inside the eyes for diagnostic purposes. Too much light can make you very dizzy and trouble to see. If they become dilated can also precipitate a glaucoma attack . I recommend against this idea.

Does it match L--R?: If you have asymmetric pupils, you should see an eye dr for exam. If your pupils match in size l-r, but are smaller than others', that may just be you.

If they are unequal in the dark usually the smaller pupil is the abnormal one, if they are unequal in light that means that the bigger pupil is abnormal
