Access Vein: Implanted port is to access vein for chemotherapy and not to use peripheral vein freouently especially in pediatrics because  start iv, is very difficult in children because the vein are very small .

chest port implanted fri, surgeon said chest/neck skin very fibrous, like cutting thru gristle in meat & dulled 3 scalpels. what could be cause? lyme?

Lyme infects joints: and nerves. The erythema annular does not scar. So, 'no' on lyme. However, previous scarring would do this. Prior procedures/surgeries in the same area certainly would do this. Alternatively other medical conditions (scleroderma) that cause scarring could also do this.

Ask your doctor:: Pectus carinatum is an uncommon birth defect in which a child's breastbone (sternum) bulges out abnormally. Sometimes the deformity isn't noticeable until after the adolescent growth spurt. For most children & teens, the main issue with pectus carinatum is the way it looks. Older teens and adults will usually need surgery to correct the problem if necessary.

Not a fan: My honest opinion is that i think pec implants look ridiculous. They just don't look natural ... Sorry. Get back on the bench and push it out.

B low the sternum? : The zyfoid process can point outwards and cause pain. Have it checked by a thoracic surgeon.

Not necessarily: A barrel chest commonly refers to the changes that occur from copd. A protruding chest is a description ofchanges to the sternum also sometimes referred to as pidgeon chest or pectus carnatum.

Almost certainly ben: Although it could be serious things in the lungs or heart, it is likely either minor arthritis of the chest (ribs), "growing pains, and/or anxiety. www.thepmc.org.

See your doctor: Some people have oddly shaped ribs. You had an ultrasound but that is not the best imaging for lungs or bones. A chest x-ray would be better, but it would be best to see a doctor to determine what test would be best for you. Be well.

Sounds normal: Nobody's body is perfectly symmetrical. Some people require differnt shoe sizes on each foot, women may require differnt bra cup sizes, and ribs may protrude more on one side than the other -- etc, etc, etc. This doesn't sound like something tow orry about. But discuss with your doctor if you remain concerned.

can u get a chest ex ray after having breast implants  in  say 3 weeks later ?

Yes,but why ?: A chest x-ray can be obtained at any time as needed and will be interpreted based on the history of the patient. If you have implants they will change the x-ray picture & the doctor will see the implants & take them into account during interpretation.They obscure less when looking at a side view x-ray.
