You can: The TSH can be drawn at any time during the menstrual cycle. If that is not normal then additional blood tests may be needed - they can also be done irrespective of the menstrual cycle.

Thyroid function: Menstruation is not a problem with thyroid testing. If your healthcare provider orders the blood test, it should only be for thyroid stimulating hormone ( TSH). Other thyroid tests are possible, but usually not necessary. If you have a thyroid nodule, it is advised to have a radioactive iodine uptake test, and your healthcare provider can order it.

Menstrual cramps : No one should suffer from menstrual cramps, if your period is regular,  you can take ibuprofen oe aleve (naproxen) starting 1 day prior to the start of your period, that might help prevent &amp; alleviate the pain. Talk to your doctor regrding the proper dose for you. Good luck .

at 42, this could be lessening for you. if re-bleed after 12 months of no bleed, must visit your gyne. some no bleed because Provera (medroxyprogesterone) birth control every three months.
