Emotions vary: Anxiety is a healthy normal emotion.  Being anxious about some things keeps us safe and healthy.  But people do not have 'permanent' mood states.  They vary.  So you really shouldn't be anxious all the time.

Typically, the optimal combination of things to treat emotional issues such as anxiety or depression is medication (which, on your best day, is supposed to take the edge off symptoms) but the real gruntwork takes place in psychotherapist's consulting room.

why do i have anxiety after alcohol?

Seretonin: While alcohol may temporarily cause you to feel relaxed (it works on GABA receptors in the brain and acts as a depressant), long term use may actually deplete stores of the "feel good" hormone seretonin.  If you are having a reaction to alcohol, i suggest abstaining and trying a non-alcoholic alternative.

or therapy to explore if needed.

See your physician: You sound very angry and upset.  (i am sure you realize that using all caps can be construed as "yelling" online, although we here have not caused your problem.)   i suggest you see your primary care physician about your palpitations.  It's good you've stopped caffeine & cigarettes, etc.  Hopefully you're not using any other stimulating substances either -- but if you are, please don't.

Anxiety: Could possibly be anxiety, depending on whether your health situation has resolved. Pressure and tightness can be an anxiety symptom, and if the content of your thoughts create fears, it may be anxiety. But first rule out any medical condition.
