Waist/height ratio: Bmi is an ok but not great measure. I prefer waist/height ratio.
Waist circumference is a better measure. Men should be under 40 inches, and women under 35 inches. Measure waist at naval. If extremely obese, lay flat on their back, then measure.
Whtr= waist circumference in inches / height in inches. 
People under 50 years old should be below 0.5
people over 60 years old should be under 0.6
people.

Diastases? : A rapid increase in abdominal girth may exacerbate   Preexisting tendencies for a diastasis ( muscle separation ). But this can happen in thin people too. Some people are born with it and others develop it as they age.

Body Morphology: Our individual body morphology depends on sex, genetics, and activity levels.  Men tend to deposit fat in their core/abdomen.  However, i would recommend seeing your physician if you have true muscle atrophy of your arms to ensure there is no other problem.  And of course, please discuss this issue with your physician to obtain better answers in relation to your specific medical history.

Wow-further progress: Ms angiebanks73--when i last answered your question, you had lost 46 lbs, now at 52? That is phenomenal! anyhow, fatty liver by itself typically does not cause pain. Acute hepatitis--either from infection/alcohol/or drugs can cause pain, but you will have other symptoms as well. From knowing a bit of your history, i sincerely doubt the liver is the cause of your pain. Please consult doc. Good luck.

Joints &amp; Muscles: Please take a two-pronged approach.  Start w/a visit to your doctor.  You need to rule out or identify medical problems.  Then ask your doctor about a ketogenic diet.  It's easy enough and works well.  Peace and good health.

Cushing: Exogenous sources of prednisone or other steroid can cause Cushingoid features but a normal Cortisol lever.

Go to ER: You could have a herniated disc, DVT, or fracture. You could also have a simple muscle spasm. Because you have difficulty moving the joint you could have neurologic problems that could get worse. See a doctor today to prevent further problems.

Back pain: Your question is confusing as I'm unsure of whether or not you're having all those symptoms along with back pain. If you are,you'll require evaluation by a neurosurgeon. For uncomplicated low back pain, try rest, hot alternating with cold applications, liniment like BenGay,and take anti-inflammatory medication like Advil or Aleve. See your physician or orthopedic specialist as needed.
