Possible: To teat for std's requires a sample from the cervix in addition to a blood test.  The pelvic would require a speculum exam which could teat the hyman a bit.  However, a virgin should not need to be tested for std's.

Girl anatomy: The hymen is a tissue near the entrance of the vagina that is present until a girl has intercourse. The hymen does not protect a girl from infection. It does not get infected due to sexually activity.

See Below: There are only really 2 types of hymen, perforate (open) and imperforate (closed). The perforate hymen can come in different types of opening (slit, septum or microperoforate). Which means that they are partially open. If you are seeing your periods, then it is perforate. Once you have intercourse, most hymens will tear to become normal.

Yes: The hymen may or may not have an opening large enough to permit insertion of a tampon.Since it will increase in diameter as it takes in menstrual blood, it will be larger when removed and could end up tearing a hymen it otherwise didn't bother.Some young  women have no hymen or a large one that would not be bothered by it's use.

The opening will be stretched or broken during solo or partner sexual activity.
