A member asked:

Can tampons break the hymen?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: The hymen may or may not have an opening large enough to permit insertion of a tampon.Since it will increase in diameter as it takes in menstrual blood, it will be larger when removed and could end up tearing a hymen it otherwise didn't bother. Some young women have no hymen or a large one that would not be bothered by it's use.
