Neck pain: This is an MRI report that states you have a herniated disc in the neck between the fourth and fifth cervical vertebrae. The pain is usually in the neck and into the shoulders. There may be headaches too. When there is pressure on the spinal cord this can cause numbness in the hands, difficulty urinating, and cramps in the legs at night.  See a neurosurgeon to discuss these MRI results.

Mass effect: A mass effect occurs when there is abnormal tissue that is pressing on the surrounding normal anatomy. An osteophyte is an abnormal growth on a bone (benign, not cancer), usually from arthritis or trauma. Are you having symptoms, neck pain, weakness in an arm, numbness, tingling, popping/jerking when neck moved. Would definitely see a neurosurgeon if there are symptoms.

: It means you have herniated disc T7-T8 which causes a deformity of the left ventral cord but there is no neural foraminal narrowing. 
Please remember the findings by MRI may not correlate with your symptoms.

: Based upon the report (likely an MRI), the demonstrated nerve root compression affected mainly the right side, and radiating pain would mainly afflict the right leg.  If this herniation increases in size, it could also affect the left leg.  Suggest a surgical opinion regarding these findings.

Probably not. : The area of concern on your spine would effect the area of your scapula. If you are having pain in your shoulder blades and then your neck too then possible connection. Otherwise you headache is most likely a tension headache.

Sometimes: Any activity that increases intra-abdominal pressure (tightening of the stomach muscles) will increase the pressure on the disc and thus pinch a nerve harder. This can be uncomfortable until the symptoms of the herniated disc resolve.

Disc Bulge: A disc herniation is a bulge of the disc. The position of the disc bulge/herniation and its impact on the spinal cord or nerve root that is important. Think of the disc as a tube of toothpaste with a hole, the tube as the annulus or outside of the disc and the paste as the nucleus, the inside of the disc. With a hole in the tube the paste begin to ooze out just like the disc nucleus.
