Stop: I am not sure if the Doxepin caused the hives because if it did, i would strongly suggest you stop this medication and try another antidepressant. Hope this helps.

i was diagnosed with hives. disappeared in 4 days with antihistamine use , could this be a sign of hiv infection?

Not specifically: Hives are called urticaria and can come from many, many reasons.  Ofter we  are  unable to identify a  cause. If they improve with anti- histamine that is good. The real truth is after  you stop using  the antihistamine do they recur.  If they recurr many times  over a  period of time they can be classified as  "Chronic  Urticaria". When we see a  patient with urticaria we think of  many causes!

hives disappeared overnight & been replaced w/extremely swollen hands/arms/feet/ankles/face/lips. painful, stiff - took oral antihistimine, what next?

A visit to the doc: If its that bad you may require further treatment...I.e oral steroids..or higher dose antihistamine...

: You should see an allergist for allergy testing to find out what you are allergic to. This will help determine if the hives have an allergic etiology. Other things can also cause hives like viruses, stress, temperature changes, etc. But, the allergy testing can help narrow down the diagnosis so that treatment can be given. Good luck!

Cholinergic Hives: There is no cure for cholinergic urticaria, and treatment options are often limited. Some common treatments include taking antihistamines (such a allegra, (fexofenadine) zyrtec, or stronger ones), avoiding known triggers (such as hot weather, physical activity, and spicy foods), corticosteriods (only for extreme cases), anabolic steroids,  uvb therapy, sweat/exercise therapy, diet changes.

1 or 2 raised hives on the body every day ( they look like a semi-sphere, red, itchy, and disappeared in 20 minutes) is it serious? about 10 month

Probably not: If the problem is so temporary , it is unlikely to be serious.  If it starts to bother you more often or becomes more severe, see your doctor.  Another approach would be to take an antihistamine every day to see if it would stop the hives even though i don't really think it is necessary.

my 6m old son has had red hives for the past 2 nights that disappear after a few hours around bedtime. i know its nothing serious and they dont seem to bother him but what could the cause be? an allergy or a virus? he has had a runny nose this week

Either cause: Watch for signs of distress, provide Benadryl for children, and please discuss with your pediatrician.
