i take hypertensives. i notice that my hand veins at home are dilated but that they are not at all at md's office. this a fight-or flight response?

No: There are variations in the visibility of veins depending on hydration, posture, time of day, salt intake and the like.

can enalapril cause veins to be more visible? i can clearly see veins on my palm, before medication i couldn't. other veins on my arm are not dilated.

No: Veins are thin walled, low pressure structures. They fill and become engorged when they're below heart level and they collapse when held above heart level. Try this: raise your hand above your shoulders for 30 seconds and see if you still see your veins?  Enalapril will dilate arterioles (small arteries), especially in your kidney. It has no effect on veins.

when i stand and keep my arms down my left palm turns red and veins dilated along the arm. can it be a sign of obstruction? v-tos in right arm already

Probably: Obstruction or varicose vein (the latter is uncommon on the upper extremities however),  see a vascular surgeon.

It could be but a-: -visit 2 your PCP is in order 2 evaluate these multiple complaints.

i have developed a darker brown patch of skin on my hand and not sure if its anything to be worried about. at a closer look it has very small dots and red lines (almost vein like). please advise ?

: A common problem and nothing to worry about .
Could be a form of Purpura( bruising ) which slowly resolves spontaneously

loss of fat: Over the years, the subcutaneous fat in our body naturally atrophies.  Think of the difference between the cheeks of a chubby baby and a 90 year old man.  This is also true in the hands.  Some physicians can perform sclerotherapy or ablation of hand veins to make them less noticeable - make sure to go to a vein specialist or phlebologist.

Swollen hand veins.: Hand veins can swell for many reasons but the most common is certainly hereditary .  Other factors would be level of hydration, aging, sun exposure and loss of elasticity and volume. Actually, I am amazed at the amount of women that i see with bulging hand veins.  They can be easily treated with laser or sclerotherapy and usually a combination of both.

Swollen hand veins.: Hand veins can swell for many reasons but the most common is certainly hereditary .  Other factors would be level of hydration, aging, sun exposure and loss of elasticity.  I doubt at age 32 that aging is a factor for you. Actually, I am amazed at the amount of women that i see with bulging hand veins.  They can be easily treated with laser or sclerotherapy and usually a combination of both.

Normal: Prominent veins in hand and feet usually belong to the deep venous system and unless associated with gross varies do not require treatment and cause no problems.
