Ask your doctor: Doctor who ordered the test should answer your questions. Other tests and past/present medical conditions affect the answer. You are at risk to develop cirrhosis of the liver. Your current condition may be reversible. Cirrhosis is not. In America, 2 most common causes is food and drink. If food and drink is not the primary cause, it does influence whether you live or die. Better diet helps a lot.

Hepatologist: Fatty liver is a poorly understood condition - has some relation to being overweight (and diabetes) but is more complicated

You need to see a liver specialist (Hepatologist) or a stomach doctor (Gastroenterologist)

: We need more history of your medical problem.... e.g. why did you have the liver ultrasound done?
You need a medical examination by a PCP/Internist.
We need to know if your liver is enlarged on physical exam? Liver function tests should also be done and if abnormal, you may need further testing including a MRI scan and possibly a needle biopsy of the liver.

Hepatocellular: Diffuse hepatocellular problems are associated with fatty liver problems such as NASH or alcoholic liver problems.  Hepatitis would cause a diffuse hepatocellular problem.  The spleen and liver are part of the same vascular bed. A liver problem can cause increase pressure in symptoms and enlarge the spleen. The cyst is a separate issue.

Fatty liver: infiltration is a precursor of liver damage and cirrhosis. May be related to alcohol abuse and elevated cholesterol and triglycerides. Any bacterial or viral infection can also cause liver dysfunction.

Liver disease: Liver disease has a broad differential diagnosis which can be from viral hepatitis, elevated iron, fatty liver, medications, autoimmune disease, and toxins ie drugs or alcohol. There are also diseases associated with chrohns such as primary biliary cirrhosis. I would recommend seeing a GI or hepatologist for further eval of all the above. Prognosis depends on the cause and remaining liver function

Sounds right...: Interpretation on sono report. Fatty infiltration of the liver commonly occurs with overweight/obesity, alcohol intake, some meds. May or may not cause increased size of liver, discomfort, abnormal blood tests. May lead to chronic inflammation and liver disease in some. Rx first with rx the underlying issues-lose weight, cut back or cut out alcohol, check meds with doc.

Non-Specific: These are not normal findings but they are non-specific. That is they do not give a "Diagnosis"  Do you have  an alcohol problem?? Have you ever had Hepatitis??? Are you on any Medications??  More info with a question may help.  Hope this helps.
