Shades of color: Both yellow and green mucus indicate pus and break down of cells with possible bacterial growth indicating an infection. Smokers have chronic inflammation in their lungs and can have purulent mucus without an infection. Anyhow, you ned to have it checked.

Nothing!: Great question! And common misconception, too. We used to believe that mucus color could help differentiate between viral (no antibiotics required) &amp; bacterial (need antibiotics) infections. But studies have shown that this isn't true. So don't give any credence to mucus color. Of course, this makes it problematic for docs to determine when to prescribe b/c indiscriminate use leads to resistance.

Sometimes vaginal discharge can be a sign of a sexual transmitted infection. Testing is important to determine the treatment and keep you and your pa.

Yes: this represents the healing of the tissues. Make sure you are doing you saline rinses still, that will thin out the secretions and prevent scabs and mucous clots from forming. Septoplasty is so much fun anyway, the se creations eventually normalize. I know from personal experience.

Sinusitis: Greetings. Some of your symptoms surely sound like classic chronic sinusitis. The first thing to to try saline nasal irrigation (not just a mist) 3x/day. I also recommend drinking more fluids, consider Motrin as directed and a mucus thinner like mucinex (guaifenesin). See your ENT doctor for a full work up. A ct scan may be recommended as well as a long course of antibiotics with possibly a steroid nose spray.

Timing: If this fluid was noted right after having sex, then it is probably semen.  If it has been a while, like days, a slightly yellow discharge can be normal based hydration and foods eaten.  However if it is enough to drip out if the vagina without recent intercourse, i would recommend a pelvic examination to check for infection.

: I think you're describing rectal mucus which usually isn't part of hemorrhoid symptoms unless there's a lot of associated inflammation.  Your anorectal discomfort most likely comes from a fissure. A proctologist or colorectal surgeon are best to examine &amp; advise you if you don't improve. Sit in hot ( not boiling,) water,pat dry&amp; apply an anal cream your pharmacist can recommend. Keep stool soft.

Sounds like sinus!: Yes you should take her to her doctor. It is very important if this is new or chronic. It sounds like sinusitis. Allergies or infection could be the cause. Is there a smoker in the house?
